In brief, what will be your top three priorities if elected (one sentence each, please).
Should the state provide more school choice for children, including the expansion of charter schools, vouchers for private schools and enabling children to attend public schools outside of their home districts?
Would you make any changes to how schools are funded by the state, including so-called Abbott districts and wealthier suburban localities?
Should the state continue to adopt regional planning initiatives to prevent sprawl, and if so, how should preservation be funded?
Do you support Gov. Christie's energy master plan or would you seek more lofty goals for conservation and renewable energy?
Experts say New Jersey's transportation infrastructure is crumbling. How should the state fund upgrades: continued bonding or borrowing, a gas tax, toll hikes or some other specified method?

Anthony Iannarelli: Property tax reform, support for public education and teachers, and tuition stabilization at Bergen Community College & Ramapo College of New Jersey. (I would ask for an audit of both institutions to find out why the tuition is so high.) I attended both institutions, and taught at Ramapo for over a decade, but with the cost of tuition, someone like myself could not afford to attend.

Anthony Iannarelli: I am not an expert on public school finance, but change has to come because inner cities have been short-changed, while suburban districts are barely holding on because of spiraling property taxes. I would defer to the financial experts. A starting point would be to hold hearing in the Assembly to look for answers, while encouraging the Senate to do the same. When you consider the cuts the governor has made for services that assist the disenfranchised, I wouldn't expect anything from him. This is the same man who routinely stayed at luxury hotels, in excess of guidelines, while US Attorney.

Anthony Iannarelli: Have you been to the 39th legislative district? There is nothing left but sprawl. Green Acres should have been granted a stable source of funding decades ago.

Anthony Iannarelli: The other thing that is masterful about the governor is his inflated opinion of himself, and his ability to spin exotic tales to a gushing audience in California--all while keeping a straight face. The most pressing environmental issue in the state, among others, is air pollution. Photochemical smog is a dangerous pollutant that causes respiratory disease; it has also been implicated in heart disease and asthma. Now that the governor has cancelled the ARC transit project, more smog-producing automobiles will be on the road. Generations to come will suffer from smog related health issues.

Anthony Iannarelli: This is a non-issue: Port Authority tolls have already gone up, and since the USDOT has forgiven New Jersey's debt for the ARC tunnel project, those funds (or savings) should be diverted to the transportation infrastructure.

Anthony Iannarelli: Regionalization is the answer. I analogize communities in the 39th to NYC community boards. Indeed, parts of Queens and Staten Island are demographically similar to towns in the 39th. Just imagine that every community board in New York had a chief of police, superintendent of schools, borough manager, judge, borough attorney, financial officer, etc., most of whom earn six figures. It would be hysterical to think these local bureaucrats earn more than the NYC police commissioner or Chancellor of Schools. That's what we have, but these jobs provide the ability to parcel out "pork" for campaigns.

Anthony Iannarelli: Tell the governor, and his sycophants, what the law requires school districts to tell students: stop being a bully.
