Tony Celeste:
I will reduce the endless red tape & restrictions placed on businesses to promote growth & create jobs.
I will implement practical, solutions to reduce local & property taxes.
I will use common sense to reduce spending, seek out waste and restore prosperity to all the people of N.J.
Tony Celeste:
As a parent a grand parent and a volunteer Big Brother I say yes parents should be given more choices to obtain the best education possible for their children. As a legislator funding of private schools would also include the funding of religious schools & that opposes the 1st Amendment concept of - separation of church & state. Funding of these schools will also take funds away from public schools. Less government in education is the answer. Get government out of the schools & let them succeed
Tony Celeste:
I would propose that we follow the State Constitution of "equal funding" for all children. Divide School funding equally for each student. This system does not discriminate as it is equally distributed and very easy to track. It will also increase school aid to about 85% of N.J. towns.
Tony Celeste:
No. The States' definition of "urban sprawl" is freedom robbing. It dictates all areas of a persons life like what kind of car to drive, where to live, what activities you can participate in etc. It places a greater value on the environment than on the human being. Preservation should be used to save our historic places, our wildlife areas etc. Preservation should not restrict population growth or install freedom robbing legislation.
Tony Celeste:
Gov. Christie is on the wrong track when it comes to reducing or stopping coal production entirely. Coal plays a major part in generating electricity, without coal our electricity prices will sky rocket. NJ is in a unique position because of our coastline which generates green, renewable & sustainable energy naturally through wind & natural ocean currents, waves/tidal forces. If science proves these aren't harmful to humans, wildlife or the environment I would implement them into our energy plan.
Tony Celeste:
I would propose we privatize. If we do this the smart way the people of N.J. will finally be on the right side of a proposal. We phase in sections at a time. By phasing in smaller areas we can easily oversee the processes to ensure best practices are in place before the next phase kicks in. Once we feel secure that the transportation system is running efficiently we add another area than another until it's phased in completely. This will ensure we don't make the same errors as the DMV fiasco.
Tony Celeste:
I would more fairly distribute Municipal aid. Some municipalities have tax exempt energy utility facilities & they receive more state aid.A town with a power plant may receive millions of dollars of Energy Tax Receipts (ERT) & the other town a small percentage of that because it has no power plant. We are all taxed on our utility bill by the state but if you don't have a power plant you lose revenue to offset property taxes. Immediately this will reduce property taxes to many people in the state
Tony Celeste:
Our government has become authoritarian. Our elected representatives have created "loopholes" in the system and cunningly they reversed the role of employee & employer. This greed has led to an Elitist attitude and they crave more power. As a NJ Assemblyman I will strive to earn the trust and respect of the people of NJ. I will remember the job of a "public servant" is to serve the needs of the people. I will work to restore the power of government to its rightful place (with the people).
