Voter Guide Toolkit: Answer Submission
Candidate Login Help e.thePeople
Why am I being prompted for an access code?

For security reasons, all participating candidates are issued an access code that allows them to complete the voter guides questionnaire.

In many cases, you are not required to type that access code in, because the email invitation you received contains a link that automatically logs you in. However, if you are being prompted for an access code, it means that for some reason, you have been logged out, and you need to log-in again.

I'm entering the access code I was given, but it isn't working. What's wrong?

First you should double-check that you are entering your code correctly. Your code has a combination of numbers and upper-case letters. Please make sure you have entered your code all in upper-case and that you have not used numerals for letters or vice versa (e.g., 1 and L, zero and O). If you continue to have trouble, please contact the person who invited you to participate in the voter guide, or send an email to a representative of e-thePeople (contact info at the bottom of this page) and include your name, the race you are running for, and where you live.

How can I log in if I don't know my access code?

You can click again on the link in the invitation email, assuming that you received one. If you're having trouble with that link (for example, because it has been broken), the access code is just the last 8-digits of that link.

If you have neither an invitation email nor an access code, you need to contact the person who invited you to participate in the voter guide. If you don't know who that is, send an email to a representative of e-thePeople (contact info at the bottom of this page) and include your name, the race you are running for, and where you live.

I just tried to preview or submit my answers and it tells me that I need to enter an access code. What do I do?

This is likely due to one of two things. First, you may have taken longer than 2 hours to complete your answers, and your session timed-out. Make sure you compose your answers first in a Word processor and then copy into the Web form to prevent any loss of your work.

The second possibility is that your Web email program has caused your log-in link not to work. If you think this is the case, you should copy the log-in link included in your invitation email and paste it into the address bar of your browser, rather than simply clicking on the link.

I'm being told that my browser is not supported for submitting my answer. What do I do?

Internet Explorer for Macintosh has been discontinued by Microsoft and has numerous technical problems, including an inability to post certain types of forms. If possible, you should use another browser, such as Safari, Firefox or Netscape. If Internet Explorer for Macintosh is the only Web browser available to you, please email your answers to the person who invited you to participate in the voter guide. If you don't know who that is, send an email to a representative of e-thePeople (contact info at the bottom of this page) and include your name, the race you are running for, and where you live.

I'm being told that I can't submit my answer because it has already been submitted. What do I do?

Once you've submitted your response, you can no longer log-in to make edits to your response. If you need to make edits, or if you have not yet submitted your response and are receiving this message, contact the person who invited you to participate in the voter guide. If you don't know who that is, send an email to a representative of e-thePeople (contact info at the bottom of this page) and include your name, the race you are running for, and where you live.
